Hello, crafters!
We’re back with another look at this month’s Spellbinders Clubs for this warm, sunny August. There’s still time to join—subscriptions are open until August 27th. If you’re just starting out in the world of cardmaking, these clubs are a fantastic way to learn new techniques and start creating. And if you’re already an experienced crafter, they’re also perfect for expanding your stash, since each month’s kits are designed to match the season—Christmas, summer, autumn… there’s always something inspiring! As I’ve mentioned in other posts, to make the most of these clubs you’ll need a few basic tools. I’ll be sharing more about those as I walk you through how I put together this card.

Seguimos con la presentación de los clubes de Spellbinders para este caluroso agosto. Todavía hay tiempo para apuntarse: las suscripciones están abiertas hasta el 27 de agosto. Si estás dando tus primeros pasos en el mundo de la tarjetería, estos clubes son una excelente forma de aprender técnicas nuevas y empezar a crear. Y si ya tienes experiencia, también son perfectos para ampliar tu colección de materiales, ya que cada mes vienen adaptados a la temporada: Navidad, verano, otoño… ¡siempre hay algo inspirador! Como les he comentado en otras publicaciones, para aprovechar al máximo estos clubes necesitarás algunas herramientas básicas. Les iré contando sobre ellas mientras les explico el montaje de esta tarjeta.

The Spellbinders Clubs offer endless creative possibilities, which is why I always recommend subscribing to at least two—if your budget allows. There’s even a “Mega Club” that includes all the clubs for the month plus an extra bonus item to pair with one of them. If you can swing it and have the time to enjoy it, it’s a fantastic choice.

Los clubes de Spellbinders ofrecen posibilidades creativas infinitas. Por eso, siempre recomiendo suscribirse al menos a dos, si el presupuesto lo permite. Incluso existe un “mega club” que incluye todos los del mes, más un regalito extra para combinar con uno de ellos. Si pueden permitírselo y tienen tiempo para sacarle partido, es una opción fantástica.

For this card, I used the Glimmer Club. It’s important to know that this club requires the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System and a manual die-cutting machine, since the foil it includes adheres to cardstock with heat and then sets with the pressure of the die-cutting machine (either the Spellbinders or Sizzix machines work perfectly).

Para esta tarjeta utilicé el Club de Glimmer. Es importante saber que este club requiere la máquina Glimmer Hot Foil System de Spellbinders y una troqueladora manual, ya que el foil que incluye se adhiere a la cartulina con calor y luego se fija con la presión de una troqueladora (puede ser la de Spellbinders o la de Sizzix, ambas funcionan de maravilla).

For my project, I chose turquoise cardstock and used Prism foil—the foil for this month (Speckled Prism, which has even more sparkle) hadn’t arrived yet. Still, the result turned out beautifully.

En este caso, elegí una cartulina turquesa y utilicé el foil Prism, porque el de este mes (Speckled Prism, con más brillo) aún no me había llegado. Aun así, el resultado quedó precioso.


The club also comes with sentiments and coordinating dies, which makes it easy to create custom greetings in different cardstock and foil colours. I went with the same turquoise cardstock and white foil so it would stand out against the background. The foil didn’t adhere perfectly, so instead of redoing it, I touched it up with a white gel pen… and it turned out so well you can’t even tell if it’s foil or hand-drawn!

El club también trae frases y sus troqueles correspondientes, lo que permite crear textos personalizados en distintos colores y acabados. Yo opté por usar la misma cartulina y foil blanco para que resaltara sobre el fondo. Eso sí, el foil no se adhirió perfectamente, así que en vez de repetirlo, lo retoqué con un bolígrafo de gel blanco… ¡y quedó tan bien que ni se nota si es foil o pintura!


To finish off the card, I added some decorative bubbles I already had in my stash and a few die-cut pieces from the Small Die of the Month Club that were left over from another project. That way I made good use of my supplies and avoided any waste.

Para terminar esta tarjeta, añadí unas burbujas para decoración que ya tenía guardadas y unas piezas troqueladas del Club de Troquel Pequeño que me habían sobrado de otro proyecto. Así aproveché materiales y evité desperdicio.
