Although we’re already halfway through August, I’d like to share with you this month’s Spellbinders clubs. I promise I always try to have everything ready at the start of the month, but I want to make it all so perfect that… I never quite make it on time! I admit it: perfection is a double-edged sword. Anyway, as I think I’ve finally got everything under control and ready, I’m starting to show you the clubs… and I still have many more cards made with other products to share. Aunque ya estamos a mediados de agosto, quiero compartirles esta semana los clubes de este mes de Spellbinders. Prometo que siempre intento tenerlo todo listo a principios de mes, pero quiero dejarlo todo tan perfecto que… ¡nunca llego a tiempo! Lo admito: la perfección es un arma de doble filo. En fin, como pienso que ya lo tengo todo bajo control y listo, empiezo a mostrarles los clubes… y eso que todavía tengo muchas más tarjetas con otros productos para enseñarles. Featuring Products | Productos Destacables
The Spellbinders clubs are very affordable for their quality. I especially recommend them if you don’t have many supplies yet, as each club has its own theme: in summer, you’ll find sea, beach, and sunshine designs; in October, Christmas themes; and so on throughout the year. I think it’s an excellent way to grow your collection.
Los clubes de Spellbinders son muy accesibles por su relación calidad-precio. Los recomiendo especialmente si no tienes muchos materiales, ya que cada club viene con una temática distinta: en verano, motivos de mar, playa y sol; en octubre, diseños navideños; y así durante todo el año. Me parece una excelente opción para ir ampliando la colección.
If your budget allows, I’d suggest choosing at least two clubs. That way, you can create cards both independently and by combining elements, achieving striking backgrounds and images that will leave the recipient speechless, with a truly professional finish.
Most clubs require a manual die-cutting machine.
Si el presupuesto lo permite, sugiero elegir al menos dos clubes: así podrás crear tarjetas tanto de forma independiente como combinando elementos, logrando fondos impactantes e imágenes que dejarán sin palabras a quien las reciba, con un toque muy profesional. Para la mayoría de los clubes se necesita una troqueladora manual.
For this card, I used the
BetterPress Club. To use it, you’ll need the
BetterPress machine and
a manual die-cutting machine. The process is simple: place the plate that comes with the club on the machine’s base, ink the image, and then position your cardstock (in this case, pale blue) on the lid. This month’s August plate features a school of fish. I chose several shades of blue and a touch of yellow to break up the monochrome palette. Once passed through the die-cutting machine, the image was cleanly printed with a beautiful raised effect.
Para esta tarjeta utilicé el club de BetterPress. Para usarlo, necesitas la máquina BetterPress y una troqueladora manual. El proceso es sencillo: colocas la placa que viene con el club en la base de la máquina, entintas la imagen y luego posicionas la cartulina (en este caso, azul pálido) sobre la tapa. Este mes de agosto la placa tiene un diseño de banco de peces. Elegí varios tonos de azul y un toque de amarillo para romper la monocromía. Al pasarlo por la troqueladora, la estampación quedó limpia y con un relieve muy bonito.
I also tried the same plate with inks in shades of pink, red, and violet for another card. I could have left the card as it was, but I wanted it to stand out more against the background, so I cut around the image.
También probé la misma placa con tintas en tonos rosas, rojos y violetas para otra tarjeta. Podría haber dejado la tarjeta tal cual, pero quería que destacara más sobre el fondo, así que recorté alrededor de la imagen.
For the background, I used the
3D Embossing Folder Club with my favourite technique: inking the folder directly and using the same colour of cardstock. This way, the raised areas keep their natural colour while the background appears darker from the ink, creating a unique contrast. To add a more professional touch, I applied some shimmer using Hero Arts Shimmer Spray. As it was a bit concentrated in some areas, I removed the excess with a cloth.
Para el fondo, utilicé el club de carpeta de embossing 3D con mi técnica favorita: entintar directamente la carpeta y usar el mismo tono de cartulina. Así, las partes en relieve mantienen su color natural, mientras que el fondo queda más oscuro gracias a la tinta. Esto crea un contraste único. Para darle un toque más profesional, apliqué brillo con el Shimmer Spray de Hero Arts. Como en algunas zonas quedó demasiado concentrado, retiré el exceso con un paño.
Finally, I assembled the card: I adhered the background to a 4.25 by 5.5-inch card base, placed the image in the centre with foam adhesive, and added the sentiment between the image and background to align the design. The sentiment is from the Glimmer Club, which uses the Glimmer machine… but I’ll explain that in my next post.Finalmente, monté la tarjeta: pegué el fondo a una base de tarjeta de 4,25 por 5,5 pulgadas, coloqué la imagen centrada con adhesivo de relieve, y añadí la frase entre la imagen y el fondo para alinear el contenido. La frase es del club de Glimmer, que se usa con la máquina Glimmer… pero eso lo contaré en mi próxima publicación.
I also created another card with the piece I’d made earlier using the BetterPress in shades of pink and purple.
