Hello there! It's me, Cha. Today I'm here to show you a card that I made using a stencil and several inks! It's a very easy card to make but I think the difficult issue here is to know what color combos you are going to use. This is a difficult task. If you don't pick the colors first, maybe you could make a lot of mistakes. For choosing the colors, I just had a look in my book of color combinations that I made myself. I just looked for color combo sheets on the internet and printed them although you don't have to print them, just keep them on your computer as you wish. So, for this card, I used a color combo with red, orange, yellow, and brown but I also added the color black, meaning that if you wanted to add another color to your palette, white and black colors are the perfect addictions to other colors combos. However, there are many other possibilities, just take one of these color colors and look for the color variations of the color wheel, for instance, analogs, complementary or triadic colors. In my case, instead of adding black, I could have chosen a blue, violet, or pink, depending on how much contrast you want to give to your card. Let´s start to create this card!
¡Hola a todos! Soy Cha. Aquí estoy para mostrarles una tarjeta que hice utilizando un esténcil o máscara y algunas tintas. Esta tarjeta es muy fácil de realizar pero creo que lo difícil es escoger la combinación de colores que quieres utilizar. Es una tarea difícil. Si no eliges los colores primero, probablemente cometas muchos errores. Para elegir los colores, simplemente miré mi libro con combinación de colores que hice yo misma. Para ello, busqué combinaciones de colores en internet y las imprimí aunque no tienes por qué imprimirlas, las puedes dejar en tu ordenador. Así que para esta tarjeta, utilicé una combinación de colores con rojo, naranja, amarillo, marrón pero también añadí el color negro, es decir, si quisieras añadir otro color a tu paleta, los colores blanco y negro son agregados perfectos. Sin embargo, hay muchas otras posibilidades, simplemente elige uno de los colores de tu combinación y busca sus variaciones de colores en la rueda de colores, por ejemplo, los colores análogos, los complementarios o los triadas. En mi caso, podría haber elegido azul, violeta o rosa, dependiendo de cuánto contraste quieras dar a tu tarjeta. ¡Comencemos a crear!

Color combinations | Combinación de colores
First, I picked a white cardstock piece to add the stencil over and started to color it. The stencil that I used was the HA Gradient Sky and Mountain Stencil. As I wanted to color by sections, I had to mask those areas that I didn't want to color with a specific ink. So I used masking tape although regular paper with temporary adhesive or washi tape would work too. I started to ink this background with this stencil with different colored inks and applying them with some ink blending brushes. The colors that I used were HA Red Royal Shadow ink, HA Tangerine Bold ink, HA Orange Soda Shadow ink, HA Butter Bar Shadow ink, HA Dandelion Bold ink, HA Lemon Yellow Shadow ink, HA Just Rust Shadow ink, HA Cup O'Joe Shadow ink, and HA Intense Black ink. Once I finished inking this background, I trimmed the sides off a little bit from this background and added on a white base card.
Primero elegí un cartulina blanca para añadir el esténcil o máscara ensima y comencé a colorearlo. El esténcil que utilicé fue Gradient Sky and Mountain Stencil de Hero Arts. Como quería colorear por secciones, tuve que enmascarar aquellas áreas que no quería tintar con una tinta específica. Así que utilicé Cinta de Enmascarar aunque papel común con un adhesivo temporal o washi tapes también valdrían. Comencé a tintar este fondo con este esténcil con diferentes tintas de colores y aplicándolas con algunos Cepillos para Tintas (tipo maquillaje). Los colores que utilicé fueron HA Red Royal Shadow ink, HA Tangerine Bold ink, HA Orange Soda Shadow ink, HA Butter Bar Shadow ink, HA Dandelion Bold ink, HA Lemon Yellow Shadow ink, HA Just Rust Shadow ink, HA Cup O'Joe Shadow ink, and HA Intense Black ink. Una vez que terminé de tintar, recorté los laterales de la tarjeta un poco y la añadí a una base de tarjeta blanca.
Later, I decided to add something interested to the card, and using my Mini MISTI Stamping Tool and a white cardstock piece, I stamped some palm trees from the HA Color Layering Sea & Waves Stamp set. I used HA Intense Black ink to stamp these images twice and used the frame cuts to die cut them with the Sidekick Mini Die Cutting Machine. These palm trees were added on the bottom left corner of the card using adhesive foam circles to give some dimension to the card.
Más tarde decidí añadir algo que le diera un poquito de interés a esta tarjeta, y utilizando la Herramienta de Estampación Mini MISTI y un trozo de cartulina blanca, estampé algunas palmeras del set de sellos HA Coloring Layering Sea & Waves. Utilicé la tinta HA Intense Black ink para estampar estas imágenes varias veces y utlicé los troqueles para troquelarlas con la Mini troqueladora Sidekick. Estas palmeras fueron añadidas en la esquina inferior izquierda utilizando círculos adhesivos de espuma para dar relieve a la tarjeta.
Finally, I added the sentiment in the upper right corner. I used one of the sentiments that came with the MMH kit - April 21, and I also masked some of the works of the sentiment because I wanted to stamp these words in two colors - black and white. First, I used an Anti-static Powder Tool, then I stamped the center word with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with HA White Embossing Powder. Then, the other two words were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink that is a pigmented ink and it's perfect to also heat embossed, so I heat embossed these two words with HA Ultra Fine Embossing Powder.
Finalmente, añadí la frase en la esquina superior derecha. Utilicé una de las frases que vinieron con el kit de Hero Arts, MMH, del mes de abril 21, y también enmascaré algunas palabras de la frase o sentimento porque las quería estampar en diferentes colores - negro y blanco. Primero apliqué la Herramienta de Polvo Antiestática y, entonces, estampé la palabra central con la tinta Versamark ink y la embosé con Polvos de Embossing Blancos. Luego, las otras dos palabras fueron estampadas con la tinta Versafine Onyx Black ink que es una tinta pigmentada que es perfecta para embosar, así que embosé estas dos palabras con Polvos Finos de Embossing Transparentes (en inglés HA Ultra Fine Embossing Powder.
To finish off this card, I added some gold shimmer to the palm trees and to one of the lines in the center of the card with the Nuvo Midas Touch Shimmer Pen. Besides, I added some HA Clear Self Enamel Dots to the background.
Para terminar esta tarjeta, añadí brillo dorado a las palmeras y a una de las líneas en el centro de la tarjeta con rotulador de purpurina dorada, Nuvo Midas Touch Shimmer Pen. También añadí algunos puntos transparentes con adhesivos de Hero Arts en el fondo.
And this is the card! I hope you like this card and give it a try to color combos and adding a color that isn't part of the color palette. This stencil is very versatile and you will see me use this again in future videos.
