Hello, crafty friends!

We’re continuing to share products from the past. Why do we always have to use new products? With the products we already have, we can keep experimenting and discovering new cardmaking techniques.For these cards, I used the 2025 Spellbinders BetterPress Club. Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite clubs. To use it, you need the BetterPress system and a manual die-cutting machine. This allows us to apply pressure to the cardstock, creating a beautiful raised impression of the design.

Seguimos compartiendo productos del pasado. ¿Por qué utilizar siempre productos nuevos? Con los productos que ya tenemos podemos seguir experimentando y descubriendo nuevas técnicas de tarjetería. Para estas tarjetas utilicé el Club de BetterPress de Spellbinders de 2025. Sin duda, este club es uno de mis favoritos. Para utilizarlo, es imprescindible contar con la máquina BetterPress y una troqueladora manual. De esta manera, podemos hacer presión sobre la cartulina y conseguir que el diseño quede marcado y con un bonito efecto de relieve.

Another technique we can try with these plates is using them with the Glimmer system. One of the best things about BetterPress plates is that they can be used with both machines: BetterPress and Glimmer. However, it doesn’t work the other way around: Glimmer plates cannot be used with the BetterPress system.For this reason, the BetterPress Club is one of my favorites, as it allows us to experiment with many different techniques, some of which I want to share with you today.

Otra técnica que podemos realizar con estas placas es utilizarlas con la máquina Glimmer. Lo mejor de las placas de BetterPress es que pueden utilizarse con ambas máquinas, tanto con BetterPress como con Glimmer. Sin embargo, no sucede al contrario: las placas de Glimmer no pueden utilizarse con BetterPress. Por esta razón, el Club de BetterPress es uno de mis favoritos, ya que nos permite experimentar con muchas técnicas diferentes, algunas de las cuales quiero mostrarles hoy.

The first different technique we can try with the BetterPress Club is to ink the plate and then press it onto the cardstock, allowing the design to be printed in color. This BetterPress Club includes a beautiful background pattern and a coordinating die that allows us to cut out whichever parts of the design we want.

La primera técnica diferente que podemos realizar utilizando el Club de BetterPress consiste en entintar la placa y después realizar la presión, consiguiendo así que el diseño quede estampado a todo color. Este Club de BetterPress incluye un fondo con un bonito patrón y un troquel que nos permite recortar el diseño que queramos.

For the first card, created using this technique, we added several colors to the background to create a multicolored pattern. We chose autumnal shades such as greens, reds, and browns and paired them with light brown cardstock.

En la primera tarjeta, realizada con esta técnica, añadimos varios colores al fondo para conseguir un patrón multicolor. Elegimos tonos otoñales, como verdes, rojos y marrones, y los combinamos con una cartulina de color marrón pálido.

For the second card, we used the same BetterPress plate, but this time with the Glimmer system and copper foil. The result is very elegant and shows how we can give the same plate a completely different look simply by changing the technique and materials we use.

Para la segunda tarjeta utilizamos la misma placa de BetterPress, pero esta vez con la máquina Glimmer y foil de color cobre. El resultado es muy elegante y nos demuestra que podemos darle un aspecto completamente diferente a una misma placa simplemente cambiando la técnica y los materiales que utilizamos.

For the third card, we used the same background again, but this time we used the coordinating die to cut out some parts of the design and make use of the negative pieces. In other words, we used a solid Glimmer plate and, with the negative piece left over from the previous card, we hot foiled it to transfer that part of the design as well. We then die-cut some of the resulting patterns and used them together with the 3D Embossing Folder Club, creating a card with different textures and layers.

Para la tercera tarjeta volvimos a utilizar el mismo fondo, pero esta vez aprovechamos el troquel para recortar algunas partes del diseño y utilizar la parte negativa. Es decir, utilizamos una placa sólida para Glimmer y, con la parte negativa que nos había sobrado de la tarjeta anterior, realizamos el proceso de hot foiling para transferir también esa parte del diseño. Después, troquelamos algunos de los patrones obtenidos y los utilizamos junto con el Club de Carpetas de Embossing 3D, creando una tarjeta con diferentes texturas y capas.

As you can see, we don’t always need new products to create something different. Sometimes all we need to do is look at the supplies we already have with fresh eyes and experiment with the possibilities they offer. I hope these ideas inspire you to take those products out of the drawer and give them a new opportunity to shine!

Como pueden ver, no siempre necesitamos productos nuevos para crear proyectos diferentes. Muchas veces basta con mirar nuestros materiales con otros ojos y experimentar con las posibilidades que ya tenemos en nuestro espacio de trabajo. ¡Espero que estas ideas les animen a sacar del cajón esos productos que llevan tiempo esperando una nueva oportunidad!
