Hello, crafty friends!
We’re wrapping up the presentation of the July 2025 Spellbinders Clubs, and this month I received a wonderful surprise. Instead of the usual Die & Stamp Club, I got the Stitching Die Club—and let me tell you, it’s absolutely delightful! It’s a beautiful set and so fun to use. I didn’t hesitate for a second and dove right in to try it out. Don’t know how to sew? No worries! You don’t need any stitching experience or to be a cross-stitch expert. This die cuts small holes to guide you exactly where the thread should go—it’s that easy. I’m not an expert in sewing myself, and you can see that for yourself in the new Reel or Short where I walk you through the process step by step.

Estamos llegando al final de la presentación de los clubes de julio 2025 de Spellbinders, y este mes he recibido una sorpresa muy especial. En lugar del habitual Club de Troquel y Sello, me llegó el Club de Troquel de Costura… ¡y qué maravilla! Es un set precioso y muy divertido de usar. Así que no lo dudé ni un segundo y me puse manos a la obra para probarlo. ¿No sabes coser? No te preocupes. No necesitas experiencia en costura ni dominar el punto de cruz. Este troquel perfora directamente las guías por donde debes pasar el hilo, así que es realmente sencillo de usar. Yo misma no soy experta en costura, y puedes comprobarlo en el nuevo Reel o Short donde te muestro el paso a paso de este proyecto.

Acetate & Stitched Holiday Card | Tarjeta navideña con acetato y bordado
For this project, I wanted to try something a little different and created a card using an acetate base, which gives it an elegant and unique look.
Para este proyecto decidí salir un poco de lo habitual y crear una tarjeta sobre base de acetato, lo que le da un efecto elegante y original.
I used the stitching die from the club to cut one piece in navy blue cardstock and three additional pieces in white. The navy piece is the one I stitched, using metallic silver thread, which really pops against the dark background. The white pieces were used as backing layers to hide the adhesive, which is especially important when working with transparent materials like acetate.
Usé el troquel del club para cortar una pieza en cartulina azul náutico y tres piezas en blanco. La pieza azul fue la que bordé, utilizando hilo metálico plateado, que resalta maravillosamente sobre ese tono. Las otras piezas blancas sirven como soporte y para ocultar el adhesivo, ya que cuando se trabaja con acetato, es importante cuidar que no se vea el pegamento por detrás.
Once I finished stitching the blue piece, I adhered it to the front of the acetate card base and trimmed the excess. Then I added one of the white die-cuts to the back of that area to cover the glue. Inside the card, I attached another white piece, and a final one on the back of the card. This keeps the design looking clean and polished from all angles.
Una vez bordada la pieza azul, la adherí al acetato y recorté el exceso. Después, añadí una de las piezas blancas por detrás, justo donde estaba el adhesivo, para ocultarlo. En el interior de la tarjeta, pegué otra pieza blanca, y finalmente, una más en la parte trasera. De esta forma, el acabado es limpio y profesional desde todos los ángulos.

Sentiment & Decorative Details | Mensaje y detalles decorativos
To add space for writing inside the card, I placed a small white rectangle on the interior panel. For a decorative touch, I framed that piece with a silver foiled border using a Glimmer plate, the “Platinum” foil from this month, and the Glimmer Hot Foil System.
Para poder escribir el mensaje dentro de la tarjeta, añadí un pequeño rectángulo blanco en la parte interior. Para darle un toque decorativo, enmarqué ese rectángulo con un borde plateado, usando una placa de Glimmer y el foil del mes, "Platinum", junto con la máquina Glimmer Hot Foil System.
The main sentiment was also foiled in “Platinum” and created in advance using Glimmer plates. To help it stand out against the background, I fussy-cut it and added a thin white border.
La frase principal de la tarjeta también la hice previamente con la Glimmer y el foil "Platinum". Para que destacara sobre el fondo, la recorté y le añadí un marco blanco fino.

Final Touches | Toques finales
To complete the card, I added a silver strip along the top edge for a more polished finish. I also embellished the card with silver baubles and a few red accents using NUVO Drops, adding shine, dimension, and the perfect festive pop of color.
Para completar el diseño, adherí una tira plateada en la parte superior de la tarjeta para un acabado más definido. Añadí también algunas esferas plateadas como decoración y unos puntos en tono rojo utilizando NUVO Drops, que aportan brillo, relieve y un toque navideño perfecto.
