I hope you're having a super creative couple of days, even if you're already back from vacation, because cardmaking is our absolute favorite remedy for clearing our minds and creating. I designed the background for this card using a gorgeous Glimmer set from the 2025 Spellbinders Clubs—it's perfect for making elegant layouts or pairing with other die-cut elements. To work with this type of set, you need two essential machines: the Glimmer Hot Foil System, which applies heat to the foil plate to transfer the foiling sheet, and a manual die-cutting machine like the Spellbinders Platinum 6" or the Big Shot, which provides the necessary pressure to press the design onto the cardstock.

Espero que estén siendo días muy creativos, incluso tras el regreso de las vacaciones, porque para nosotros la tarjetería es la mejor vitamina para despejar la mente. Diseñé el fondo de esta tarjeta usando un precioso set de la línea Glimmer de los clubes de Spellbinders 2025, ideal para crear composiciones elegantes o acompañar otros elementos troquelados; para trabajar este tipo de sets se necesitan dos máquinas clave: la Glimmer Hot Foil System, que aplica calor a la placa metálica para transferir la lámina de foil, y una troqueladora manual como la Spellbinders Platinum 6" o la Big Shot, que aporta la presión necesaria para fijar el diseño a la cartulina.

This set includes the Glimmer hot foil plate and several sentiment stamps. The design is so lovely that simply transferring gold, silver, or opal foil onto colored cardstock would have looked stunning on its own. However, since we wanted to use a sentiment in Spanish, we decided to make the background pop with vibrant colors: after transferring the gold foil onto white cardstock , we colored the geometric squares with a bold palette of pinks, purples, yellows, and touches of black to make that golden shine stand out even more.

Este set incluye la placa de hot foil para la Glimmer y varios sellos con frases. El diseño es tan bonito que, con solo aplicar foil dorado, plateado u ópalo sobre una cartulina de color, ya habría quedado espectacular. Sin embargo, como queríamos añadir una frase en español, decidimos darle todo el protagonismo al fondo llenándolo de color: tras transferir el foil dorado sobre cartulina blanca, coloreamos los recuadros con una paleta vibrante de rosas, violetas, amarillos y pequeños toques de negro para hacer resaltar aún más el brillo dorado.

The sentiment we chose comes from a die set that was released in multiple languages, including Spanish. I think it's a fantastic initiative, and I really hope that Spellbinders and other companies keep releasing inclusive sets like this in the future so we can enjoy making and giving cards in our own language! To make the sentiment pop without overwhelming the design, we die-cut the word in white with a black shadow layer, creating the perfect contrast against the vibrant background. Also, to give it a unique look, I cut the panel at an angle and added a black mat. Then, I mounted it onto a pale pink card base, giving our card a completely fresh perspective.

Elegimos una frase de un set de troqueles que lanzaron en varios idiomas, incluido el español. Me parece una iniciativa fantástica y espero que tanto Spellbinders como otras marcas sigan sacando colecciones inclusivas para poder regalar tarjetas en nuestro propio idioma. Para que el mensaje destacara sin romper la armonía del diseño, troquelamos la palabra en blanco sobre una base negra, logrando el contraste perfecto con el fondo vibrante. Además, para darle un toque diferente y original, recorté el panel en ángulo y le añadí un marco negro. Después, lo pegué sobre una base de tarjeta en tono rosa pálido, logrando así una composición con una perspectiva totalmente distinta.

To put the finishing touches on the card, we added a few gold sequins to smoothly tie the vibrant background and the sentiment together.

Para darle el toque final a la tarjeta, añadimos unas pocas lentejuelas doradas que ayudan a integrar armónicamente el fondo vibrante con el mensaje.
