For the background, I used the Stencil Club, which includes two designs. The design I chose for this card is made up of three stencils that are used in layers and are numbered to make ink blending easier.

Para el fondo utilicé el club de esténciles, que consta de dos diseños. El diseño que elegí para esta tarjeta está compuesto por tres esténciles que se utilizan por capas y que están numerados para facilitar su aplicación con tinta.

To be honest, this is one of the first times I’ve stepped a little outside my comfort zone, as I decided to use very soft, pale shades of blue. I started by using the June 2025 Stencil Club to create the background. I used Hero Arts Core Ink in the “Mist” shade and, with a blending brush, applied the ink onto white cardstock.

Para ser sincera, esta es una de las primeras veces que me he salido un poco de mi zona de confort, ya que he optado por utilizar tonos azulados y bastante pálidos. Comencé utilizando el club de esténciles de junio de 2025 para crear el fondo. Utilicé la tinta Hero Arts Core Ink en el tono “Mist” y, con la ayuda de un cepillo para aplicar tinta, fui aplicándola sobre la cartulina blanca.

I only used this one ink color and played with the intensity of the application to create different shades. In the areas where I wanted a darker tone, I applied more ink, while in the areas where I wanted a softer effect, I applied the ink more lightly. This allowed me to create a tone-on-tone effect using just one ink color.

Solo utilicé esta tinta y fui jugando con la intensidad de la aplicación para conseguir diferentes tonalidades. En las zonas en las que quería un tono más oscuro, aplicaba una mayor cantidad de tinta y, en las zonas donde quería un resultado más suave, aplicaba la tinta con menos intensidad. De esta manera, conseguí crear un efecto de tono sobre tono utilizando únicamente una tinta.

I already thought the card looked beautiful with this background, so for the sentiment, I used the Stamp Club and stamped it directly in the center. The stencils had created a perfect open space in the middle, so I was able to use it to place the sentiment.

La tarjeta ya me parecía muy bonita con este fondo, así que, para la frase, utilicé el club de sellos y la estampé directamente en la parte central. Al aplicar los esténciles, se había creado un hueco perfecto en el centro, así que pude aprovecharlo para colocar la frase.

And this is the card I created using these two clubs. What do you think? I really love how it turned out, and I’ve definitely saved this idea to use again in the future, as this is a technique I don’t use very often: creating a tone-on-tone background using a single ink color and playing with the intensity of the application.

Y esta sería mi tarjeta utilizando estos dos clubes. ¿Qué les ha parecido? A mí me ha gustado mucho el resultado y, de hecho, me he guardado esta idea para utilizarla en el futuro, ya que es una técnica que no suelo utilizar demasiado: crear un fondo de tono sobre tono utilizando una sola tinta y jugando con la intensidad de la aplicación.
