Ghost Wreath Stamping | Estampar una corona de Fantasmas

In this post, I will tell you about the card I show you in one of my YouTube videos. It is very interesting when you have only a few stamp sets and you want to get the most out of them. Therefore, I recommend repeated stamping, as I explained in my previous post or, the wreath stamping, that is, like a wreath, but instead of using a flower stamp, we simply use any other stamp, in this case, a very adorable ghost.

En esta publicación, les hablaré sobre la tarjeta que les muestro en uno de mis vídeos de YouTube. Es muy interesante cuando tienes pocos set de sellos quieres sacarles el máximo partido. Por tanto, les recomiendo la estampación repetida, como ya les expliqué en mi publicación previa o, la estampación en corona, es decir, como una corona de flores, pero en vez de utilizar un sello de flor, simplemente usamos cualquier otro sello, en este caso, un fantasma muy adorable.

For repeated stamping, it is advisable to use a stamping tool such as the MISTI or, like the one I used, the Stampwheel. The latter allows you to rotate the stamp to stamp the image in a circular way thanks to its circular lid. However, as it is a non-symmetrical stamp, it has to be arranged at each stamping so that the images do not overlap one on top of the other. Therefore, any stamping tool will work fine. But why do we use a stamping tool and not an acrylic block? Because if the first time we stamp, the image is not defined, it will have to be stamped over, and with an acrylic block, it is more complicated, although it is possible that the details may not look good. The stamp set I used is the Fall Sampler by Simon Hurley. This stamp set is highly recommended for fall/autumn cards, Halloween, and Thanksgiving, which, although not celebrated in Spain, there are other celebrations. For example, in several villages in the Canary Islands, the Noche de los Finaos has been celebrated since the 15th century, when relatives remember their missing relatives and go to visit them at their graves from 31 October to 2 November, bringing chestnuts to roast (a chestnut for a memory), other nuts and fruit and, as a family, sharing laughter and memories of those who are no longer with us. However, the Finaos is a Canarian celebration that, unfortunately, is being forgotten in favor of other more modern celebrations such as Halloween. In my case, I am from a small capital city where the Finaos are not celebrated, but I do have family and friends who live in villages that still celebrate this traditional festival. 

Para realizar una estampación repetida, es recomendable utilizar una herramienta de estampación como la MISTI o, como la que yo he utilizado, la Stampwheel. Esta última permite rotar el sello para ir estampando la imagen de manera circular gracias a su tapa de esta forma. Sin embargo, al ser un sello no simétrico, se debe acomodar en cada estampación para que no se solapen las imágenes una sobre otra. Por tanto, cualquier herramienta de estampación valdrá para este fin. Pero ¿por qué utilizamos una herramienta de estampación y no un bloque de acrílico? porque si la primera vez que estampamos, la imagen no queda definida, se deberá estampar encima, y con un bloque de acrílico es más complicado, aunque se puede, pero en los detalles pueden no quedar bien. El set de sellos que utilicé es el Fall Sampler de Simon Hurley. Este set de sellos es muy recomendable para tarjetas otoñales, halloweenianas y para el Día de Acción de Gracias que, aunque en España no se celebra, sí existen otras celebraciones. Por ejemplo, en varios pueblos de Canarias se celebra la Noche de los Finaos desde el siglo XV en que los familiares se acuerdan de sus difuntos y van a visitarlos a sus tumbas desde el 31 de octubre hasta el 2 de noviembre, llevando castañas para tostarlas (una castaña por un recuerdo), otros frutos secos y fruta y, en familia, se comparten risas y recuerdos de aquellos que ya no están con nosotros. Sin embargo, los Finaos es una celebración canaria que, lamentablemente, está quedando en el olvido por otras más actuales como Halloween. En mi caso, soy de una pequeña ciudad capital en donde no se celebran los Finaos pero si tengo familiares y amigos que viven en pueblos que aún celebran esta fiesta tradicional. 

This card is quite easy to make as only a white pigment ink is needed to stamp on dark cardstock, to create more contrast between the white color of the images and the background. However, the details of the ghosts were colored with other colored inks, i.e. first stamped with the white pigment ink and then, stamped over the white in color, as using a dark cardstock piece, the inks are not visible, you would need different pigment inks of different colors, but with the white ink and then re-stamping over it with another colored ink, it looks pretty good and you don't need to buy more inks. The sentiment for this card was also stamped with white pigment ink.

Esta tarjeta es bastante fácil de hacer ya que solo se necesita una tinta de pigmento blanco para estampar sobre cartulina oscura, para exista más contraste entre el color blanco de las imágenes y el fondo. No obstante, los detalles de los fantasmas fueron coloreados con otras tintas de colores, es decir, primero se estampó con la tinta de pigmento blanco y, luego, se estampó sobre lo blanco en color ya que al utilizar una cartulina oscura, las tintas no se ven, se necesitarían diferentes tintas de pigmento de distintos colores, pero con la tinta blanca y luego reestampar sobre ella con otra tinta de color, queda bastante bien y no es necesario adquirir más tintas. La frase para esta tarjeta también se estampó con la tinta de pigmento blanca. 

To give a touch of dimension to this ghost card, we used different dimensional glues in different colors, called Nuvo Jewel Drops, which are used to decorate the cards. For each ghost, it was used according to the color of the previously stamped details.

Para darle un toque de relieve a esta tarjeta fantasmal, se utilizó diferentes pegamentos de relieve en diferentes colores, llamado los Nuvo Jewel Drops, que se utilizan para decorar las tarjetas. Para cada fantasma, se utilizó según el color de los detalles previamente estampados.
