How to Highlight the Central Image on Cards | Cómo Destacar la Imagen Principal en Tarjetas

Hello crafty friends,

I have always looked for originality in the creation of cards and that means looking for new approaches and perspectives in the positioning of the three main elements - the background, the central image, and the phrase.  However, you can highlight one of these elements to be the main focus of attention. There are several ways to highlight the central image on a card and today's card technique involves combining different colors of the same image to make it stand out from the background. For these cards, I have created a Reel which you can see on my Instagram (see HERE).

Siempre he buscado la originalidad en la creación de tarjetas y eso conlleva a buscar nuevos enfoques y perspectivas en la posición de los tres elementos principales - el fondo, la imagen central y la frase.  Sin embargo, puedes resaltar uno de estos elementos para que sea el foco principal de atención. Hay varias maneras para destacar la imagen central en una tarjeta y la técnica en las tarjetas de hoy lleva a combinar diferentes colores de una misma imagen para así hacerla destacar del fondo. To create this card, I started by embossing the main image in five different colors - green, turquoise, yellow, orange, and pink. The stamp set with coordinating dies and stencil I used is from Hero Arts - HA Peonies Bunch. I then colored the images with the same colored inks - Peony, Cotton Candy, Kiwi, and Fresh Lawn. I die-cut each of the flowers. However, I must say that I wasn't very motivated to add the flowers as they were as I wanted a card more than just a flower with a pretty background. So I decided to cut the flowers into four equal parts. First, I cut one flower, and then, using the first one as a guide, I cut out the others. Later, the flowers were combined so that they were painted in two colors to catch the eye. 

Para crear esta tarjeta, comencé embosando la imagen principal en diferentes colores - verde, turquesa, amarillo, naranja y rosa. El set de sellos con sus troqueles coordinados y el esténcil que utilicé es de Hero Arts - HA Peonies Bunch. Luego, coloreé las imágenes con las mismas tintas de colores - Peony, Cotton Candy, Kiwi y Fresh Lawn. Troquelé cada una de las flores. Sin embargo, no estaba motivada para añadir las flores así como estaban ya que quería algo más que una simple flor con un simple fondo bonito. Por ello, decidí cortar las flores en cuatro partes iguales. Primero corté una flor, y luego, utilizando como guía la primera, fui recortando las demás. Entonces, las fui combinando entre sí para que quedaran pintadas en dos colores para así, captar la atención. 

The background of our card should not be too flashy as we want our image to stand out with the two colors we add. I chose different colored cardstock for our background and stamped them in the same tone to give them a touch of color. I used a flower background from Hero Arts - HA Flowers and Bees Bold Prints. Then, I added the images on the background and embossed the phrase with white embossing powder. To finish off these cards, I added some sequins in the shape of a flower from my stash. 

El fondo de nuestra tarjeta no debe ser muy llamativo ya que queremos que nuestra imagen resalte con esos dos colores que añadimos. Escogí diferentes cartulinas de colores y las estampé en el mismo tono para así darles un toque de color. Utilicé un sello de caucho de Hero Arts para el fondo - HA Flowers and Bees Bold Prints. Añadí las imágenes sobre el fondo y embosé la frase con polvos de embossing blancos. Para terminar, añadí unas lentejuelas con forma de flor que tenía entre mis materiales.
