Hello there! It's me, Cha! Today we are starting a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero!! Remember that you can participate in this July challenge until August 10th. Our July Challenge is Embossing! So, grab all your Hero Arts products that you have and create a beautiful card using embossing! How does it sound? Easy right? Here I have a card that I would like to show you if you are stuck and need some inspiration. For today's card, I created a card with a lot of palm trees in the sunset. Let's start!
¡Hola a todos! Soy Cha. Hoy comenzamos un nuevo reto en el blog A Blog Named Hero. Recuerda que pueden participar en el reto de este julio hasta el 10 de agosto. Nuestro reto de julio es Repujado o Embossing! Así que decidan qué productos de Hero Arts van utilizar para crear una bonita tarjeta ¡utilizando embossing! ¿Cómo suena todo esto? ¿Es fácil, no? Aquí tengo una tarjeta que me gustaría compartir con ustedes por si están estancadas y necesitan inspiración. Para la tarjeta de hoy, creé una tarjeta con muchas palmeras en el atardecer. ¡Comencemos!
First of all, I picked a 4,25 by a 5,5-inch piece of Hero Arts Papaya Premium Cardstock. I colored a circle using White Unicorn Pigment Ink in the center of it with a Sponge Dauber. Then, I mixed around the inky white circle some Distress Oxide inks, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed using Sponge Daubers too. I heat set it a little bit to dry it.
Primero, utilicé una trozo de cartulina de color anaranjado (Hero Arts Papaya Premium Cardstock) de 4,25 por 5,5 pulgadas. Coloreé un círculo en el centro del panel utilizando la tinta de pigmento blanca (White Unicorn Pigment ink) aplicándola con una esponja de dedal (Sponge Dauber). Mezclé alrededor del círculo blanco algunas tintas Distress Oxide de color amarillo, Squeezed Lemonade y Mustard Seed utilizando nuevamente una esponja de dedal (Sponge Dauber). Lo sequé con la pistola de calor.
As I was going to use embossing, each time that I changed colors, I applied an Anti-static Powder Tool that helps to avoid the grains of the embossing adhere in other parts of the cards that I would not want to.
Como iba a utilizar embossing, cada ver que cambiaba los colores, aplicaba una Herramienta Antiestática para Polvo que ayuda a evitar que los granos del embossing se adhieran a otras partes que no queremos.
Later, I started to stamp the palm tree from Color Layering Palm Tree Stamp Set but I just used the first solid layer of the stamp, both the leaves and the trunk. I used an acrylic block to stamp the palm trees but you can use a stamping tool as a MISTI Stamping Tool. First, I stamped the leaves with their corresponding trunks several times with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. Then, I heat embossed these with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Embossing Powders. When it was all dry, I decided to continue stamping the palm trees on the background with Versamark Ink which is transparent and I heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Embossing Powder again in order to get the same colors as the cardstock. I heat embossed the palm trees several times to get solid or smooth embossing images.
Luego comencé a estampar la palmera del set de sellos Color Layering Palm Tree Stamp Set pero utilicé solamente la primera capa que es el sello más sólido del set, ambas las hojas y el tronco. Utilicé un bloque de acrílico (o metacritato) para estampar las palmeras pero pueden utilizar una herramienta para estampar sellos como la MISTI Stamping Tool. Primero, estampé las hojas con sus correspondientes troncos varias veces con la tinta Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. Luego, repujé utilizando polvos de embossing transparentes para que quede del mismo color con el que estampé el sello. Estos polvos de embossing transparentes se llaman Hero Arts Ultra Fine Embossing Powders. Cuando estuvo seco, decidí continuar estampando las palmeras que el fondo pero, utilizando la tinta Versamark ink que es transparente y repujé nuevamente con los polvos de embossing transparentes (Hero Arts Ultra Fine Embossing Powder) para que quedara del mismo tono que la cartulina. Repujé las palmeras varias veces hasta conseguir un embossing o repujado más sólido y suave.
From the same set (Color Layering Palm Tree Stamp set), I picked one stamp with a cluster of leaves and stamped on some background areas, between the palm trees, with Distress Oxide inks, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo.
Del mismo set de sello (Color Layering Palm Tree Stamp set), utilicé un sello con un montón de hojas y lo estampé en algunas zonas del fondo, entre las palmeras, con las tintas Distress Oxide, Spiced Marmalade y Vintage Photo.
To finish this card, I just stamp the sentiment with black ink, Versafine Onyx Black ink. The sentiment is from the same stamp set (Color Layering Palm Tree Stamp set).
Para terminar la tarjeta, simplemente estampé la frase con tinta negra, Versafine Onyx Black ink. La frase es del mismo set de sellos (Color Layering Palm Tree Stamp set).
I trimmed the panel an inch from one long and short side and I trimmed another white panel a half-inch from each side. I glued these panels together, I mean the main panel with the palm trees and the white panel. Finally, I glued these ones to an orange folded card that I have in my stash.
Recorté el panel una pulgada desde los lados de la misma y recorté un panel blanco pero de ésta solo una pulgada de los lados. Pegué estos paneles juntos, es decir el panel principal con las palmeras y el panel blanco. Luego esta pieza la adherí a una base de tarjeta de color naranja suave que tenía entre mis materiales de tarjetas.
I did not do anything else because I wanted to stand out the embossing from the card.
No añadí nada más ya que quise resaltar el repujado o embossing de la tarjeta.
