Hello, crafty friends!

We’re continuing our journey through the Spellbinders Clubs for July 2025, and this month is full of holiday inspiration! These clubs are only available for subscription until July 27, so if you’ve been thinking of joining, now’s the perfect time. If you prefer to wait and purchase the products individually, they’ll be available starting August 10, 2025—but at a slightly higher price and with limited stock. That’s why I highly recommend subscribing directly to the clubs, and if possible, to at least two of them. Recuerden que estos clubes solo estarán disponibles para suscripción hasta el 27 de julio, así que si están considerando unirse, este es el momento ideal. Si prefieren esperar para adquirir los productos por separado, estarán disponibles a partir del 10 de agosto de 2025, aunque con un precio ligeramente más alto y sujetos a disponibilidad. Por eso, recomiendo muchísimo suscribirse directamente a los clubes, y si pueden, a al menos dos de ellos, ya que les permitirán crear una gran variedad de tarjetas y proyectos con mucho más valor y creatividad. BetterPress Backgrounds | Fondos con BetterPress

In today’s post, I’m showing you how I used the BetterPress Club to create the backgrounds for these holiday cards. This club is very versatile—it even includes sentiments that work beautifully on their own, so you don’t necessarily need to add images.

En la publicación de hoy les muestro cómo utilicé el Club de BetterPress para crear los fondos de estas tarjetas navideñas. Este club es muy versátil, ya que incluye frases que se pueden usar por sí solas, sin necesidad de añadir imágenes adicionales.

That said, I also wanted to follow my own advice and use at least two clubs, so I paired the BetterPress with one of my favorites: the Small Die of the Month. This one always includes easy-to-use images that are perfect for building charming card scenes (you can see more in the Reel or Short I posted).

Aun así, para poner en práctica mi recomendación de suscribirse a al menos dos clubes, también utilicé uno de mis favoritos: el Club de Troquel Pequeño, que siempre trae imágenes fáciles de usar y perfectas para crear escenas con encanto (pueden ver más en el Reel o Short).

Background Techniques | Técnicas para Fondos

With this set, I created several tone-on-tone backgrounds, and for a couple of them (red and navy cardstock), I also used white pigment ink to create more contrast and help the design stand out.

Con este set, creé varios fondos con un efecto tono sobre tono, aunque también apliqué tinta de pigmento blanca sobre cartulina roja y azul náutico para obtener un mayor contraste y resaltar el diseño.

Card Assembly | Montaje de las tarjetas

When it came to assembling the cards, I tried out a few different approaches: - Simple cards: For the softer backgrounds, I kept it clean and minimal—just the background, a die-cut image, and a sentiment. -Interactive touches: For a fun effect, I added wobble springs behind some of the die-cut images to give them a bit of movement and dimension.

Al momento de montar las tarjetas, quise explorar diferentes enfoques: - Tarjetas sencillas: En aquellas con fondos de menor contraste, opté por un montaje limpio: simplemente el fondo, una imagen troquelada y una frase. - Detalles interactivos: A algunas imágenes les añadí una base con wobble para darles movimiento y un toque divertido de relieve.

Then I decided to take it a step further. I cut the backgrounds on a diagonal and mixed and matched different color combinations—warm tones like red and pink with cool tones like green and blue. This resulted in new, unexpected backgrounds that look great even without additional images. But of course... I couldn’t resist! The die-cut images from the Small Die Club were just too cute, so I added them anyway—also mounted on wobble springs for that extra interactive charm.

Después, quise experimentar aún más, cortando los fondos en diagonal para combinarlos entre sí. Así, uní colores cálidos (rojo y rosa) con tonos fríos (verde y azul), logrando nuevos fondos combinados. Como pueden ver, esta técnica permite crear tarjetas originales sin necesidad de imágenes adicionales.
Sin embargo, ¡no me pude resistir! Las imágenes del Club de Troquel Pequeño me parecieron tan adorables que las añadí de todas formas, también con wobble para mantener el toque interactivo.

Sentiments with Glimmer Hot Foil | Frases con Glimmer Hot Foil

Even though I used the BetterPress for the background, I opted to use the Glimmer Hot Foil System for the sentiments, along with the Platinum foil from this month’s kit.
Quick tip: BetterPress plates can be used with the Glimmer system, but not the other way around.

Aunque el fondo lo hice con BetterPress, para las frases utilicé la Glimmer Hot Foil System con el foil "Platinum" de este mes. Recuerden: las placas de BetterPress sí pueden usarse con Glimmer, pero no al revés.

I trimmed the foiled sentiments and backed them with cardstock to make them pop against the colorful backgrounds.

Recorté las frases y les añadí una cartulina en la parte posterior para que destacaran mejor sobre los fondos coloridos.

Final Touches | Toques finales

To finish off the cards, I added small festive embellishments like Christmas trees, snowflakes, and peppermint candies, placing them randomly for a cheerful, playful look.

Para terminar las tarjetas, añadí pequeñas decoraciones navideñas como arbolitos, copos de nieve y caramelos de menta, colocados al azar para darles un toque alegre y festivo.
