3D Embossing Folder of the Month JUL-25 | Carpeta de Embossing 3D del Mes JUL-25

Hello, happy crafters!

In my last post, I shared how I assembled the July 2025 Small Die of the Month Club from Spellbinders, which I used to create the main images for my cards. Today, I want to show you how I combined that kit with two others: the 3D Embossing Folder Club and the Stencil Club, which I used to design the backgrounds. En mi última publicación les conté cómo monté el Club de Troquel Pequeño de julio 2025 de Spellbinders, el cual utilicé para crear las imágenes principales de mis tarjetas. Ahora quiero mostrarles cómo combiné ese club con otros dos: el Club de Carpeta de Embossing 3D y el Club de Esténcil, que usé para diseñar los fondos. Si están considerando suscribirse, les recomiendo echar un vistazo a todos los clubes para elegir los que más se adapten a su estilo y sacarle el máximo partido. This month’s 3D Embossing Folder is an absolute gem—versatile and beautifully detailed, perfect for applying various techniques and creating stunning backgrounds. Unlike a standard embossing folder, this 3D version has a deep texture, so I decided to ink the raised side of the folder directly to transfer the color onto the cardstock and highlight those intricate details. While you can definitely play around with contrasting colors, this time I went with a tone-on-tone approach: blue ink on blue cardstock, red on red, and so on. I used Distress Oxide inks, which gave the backgrounds a lovely, soft brushstroke effect. Finally, I added a touch of shimmer spray to the backgrounds. 

La Carpeta de Embossing 3D de este mes es una verdadera joya: versátil y con muchísimo relieve, ideal para aplicar diferentes técnicas y crear fondos espectaculares. A diferencia de la carpeta de embossing estándar, esta versión en 3D tiene un alto nivel de textura, por lo que decidí entintar directamente la parte en relieve para transferir ese color a la cartulina y así destacar los detalles. Aunque se puede jugar con colores contrastantes, en esta ocasión preferí un enfoque tono sobre tono: azul sobre azul, rojo sobre rojo, etc. Utilicé tintas Distress Oxide, que crean un efecto de pincelada muy bonito y suave. Por último, apliqué un poco de spray brillante sobre los fondos.

However, when I started assembling the cards, I realized the main images from the Small Die of the Month Club were getting a bit lost against those textured and colorful backgrounds. To fix this, I trimmed the backgrounds to leave a portion of the card base white, placing the focal image between the embossed and non-embossed areas. This made the images stand out much more. I also wanted to add a fun interactive touch, so I adhered the images using woobles—adhesive discs that allow for a slight wobble and add dimension. It gives the cards a dynamic, playful feel!

Sin embargo, al montar las tarjetas, me di cuenta de que las imágenes principales del Club de Troquel Pequeño se perdían un poco sobre esos fondos tan cargados de textura y color. Para solucionarlo, recorté los fondos dejando una sección en blanco (la base de la tarjeta), colocando así la imagen entre el fondo con relieve y el área sin relieve. Esto hizo que las imágenes destacaran mucho más. Además, quise añadir un toque interactivo pegando las imágenes con "woobles" (discos adhesivos que permiten un ligero movimiento y aportan volumen), lo cual da un efecto dinámico y muy divertido.

For the sentiments, I used a mix of the Glimmer Club and BetterPress Club. Here's an important reminder: Glimmer plates can be used with the BetterPress system, but BetterPress plates cannot be used with the Glimmer system. This is a key detail to keep in mind! This month, I used the “platinum” foil (a gorgeous silver tone) that came with the Glimmer Club, and it looked absolutely stunning on the sentiments.

Para las frases, usé una combinación del Club de Glimmer y BetterPress. En este punto, es importante recordar: Las placas de Glimmer pueden usarse con la BetterPress pero las placas de BetterPress no pueden usarse con la Glimmer. ¡Es un detalle clave a tener en cuenta! Este mes utilicé el foil “platinum” (un plateado precioso) que venía con el Club Glimmer, y quedó espectacular en las frases. 

To finish off the cards, I added silver pearls to match the foil, along with wax embellishments shaped like snowflakes, perfect for this festive "Christmas in July" theme.

Para terminar, decoré con perlas plateadas a juego con el foil, y añadí algunos toques de cera con forma de copos de nieve, perfectos para este tema navideño.
