Hi there! I'm on the blog A Blog Named Hero for the May challenge 2019 in which we want to congrats Hero Arts company in their 45th anniversary! There are a few days left to join this May challenge for the chance to win gift certificates!
¡Hola a todos! Estoy en el blog "A Blog Named Hero" por el reto de mayo 2019 en el que queremos felicitar a la compañía Hero Arts en su aniversario 45º. Quedan varios días antes de que termine este reto de Mayo para tener la oportunidad de ganar algunos cupones para la tienda online de Hero Arts.
One of the things that I love about this company is the green business (see here). According to their blog, over the years, "they have eliminated all toxins, chemicals, and solvents from their processes (of manufacturing)", also, "their manufacturing facility gets 80% from their solar energy system and a 20% from their wind energy system". Paper crafting or cardmaking is a hobby or job that it has a great impact on Mother Earth because of the process of manufacturing of paper, rubber, clear or photo-polymer stamps and glues that caused hazardous pollutants for the environment. Thanks to their process of manufacturing their products, they have reduced the pollutants from their business, such as, the manufacturing of clear or photo-polymer stamps that are made from American photo-polymer which "is non-toxic, biodegradable and phthalate-free (plastics)", or the manufacturing of cling / rubber stamps and wood stamps that are made from "100% all-natural rubber that comes from sustainably managed forests".
Una de las cosas que me encanta de esta compañía es que es un negocio ecológico (miren aquí). Según su blog, a lo largo de los años "han eliminado todas las toxinas, químicos y solventes en sus procesos (de fabricación)", también, "la instalación de fabricación se obtiene de un 80% de su sistema de energía solar y, de un 20% de su sistema de energía eólica". Las manualidades o tarjetería es un hobby o trabajo que tiene un gran impacto en nuestro Planeta Tierra por el modo de fabricación de cartulinas, sellos de caucho o de fotopolímero y pegamentos que causan contaminantes peligrosos para el medio ambiente. Gracias a su proceso de la fabricación de sus productos, han reducido esos contaminantes, como en la fabricación de los sellos fotopolímeros que estan hechos de fotopolímero americano que "no es tóxico, es biodegradable y libre de ftalato (plásticos)", o la fabricación de los sellos de caucho o madera que "son 100% hechos de caucho natural que proceden de bosques sostenibles y supervisados".
For today's card, I picked a past My Monthly Hero kit. If you don't know these kits, Hero Arts kits (known as My Monthly Hero kits) have been a good investment for new cardmakers in these years because they come with different, new and limited products (see here). The My Monthly Hero kit that I used for my card has to be a must-have product because of the sentiments and word dies that come with this kit... yes! I'm talking about the My Monthly Hero kit March 2018... and it is still available! Yeah! Para hoy escogí un kit My Monthly Hero. Si no conoces los kits, los kits de Hero Arts (conocidos como My Monthly Hero kits) han sido una buena inversión para los nuevos creadores de tarjetas en estos años porque vienen con nuevos, diferentes y limitados productos (mira aquí). El kit My Monthly Hero que utilicé hoy tiene que ser un producto imprescindible por los sellos de frases y los troqueles de palabras que vienen con este kit... ¡y sí! Estoy hablando del kit My Monthly Hero marzo 2018... ¡y todavía está disponible! ¡Yeah! Te invito a visitar su tienda online para que echen un vistazo porque puedes crear bonitas y emotivas tarjetas con este kit.
First of all, I picked a piece of 5,5 by 4,25-inch white cardstock that I pre-cut. For stamping, I decided to use a medium-size acrylic block and some Hero Arts inks. I stamped the small sun that comes with the kit here and there on the whole panel using different colors inks. I used the inks that came with the kits along these years but they are very similar colors of the following Hero Arts ink pads: mulled wine, navy, aquatic, red royal, rose madder, soft sky, summer sky, butter bar, orchid, orange soda, tangerine, deep ocean, soft granite, cup o 'joe, pumpkin pie, just rust, and green apple. Now that my piece was full of suns, I also stamped the flower that comes with the kit. I stamped this flower over every sun that I'd previously stamped. I followed the chromatic color wheel in order to change the color. For example, if I stamped the sun with butter bar, I stamped the flower with orchid or orange soda. Also, there were some suns that were so dark, as the navy ones, so I decided to stamp the flower over each of them using the unicorn pigment ink. When I finished stamping all the flowers over the suns, I decided to fill the gaps with some hearts here and there, too.
Primero, escogí un trozo de cartulina blanca precortada a 5,5 por 4,25 pulgadas (cartulina especial para tarjetería). Para estampar los sellos, decidí utilizar un bloque de metacrilato de tamaño medio y algunas tintas de Hero Arts. Estampé el sol pequeño que viene con este kit en toda la cartulina y con diferentes tintas de colores. Utilicé las tintas que venían con los kits a lo largo de estos años pero son de colores similares a las tintas de Hero Arts: mulled wine, navy, aquatic, red royal, rose madder, soft sky, soft granite, butter bar, orchid, orange soda, tangerine, deep ocean, cup o 'joe, pumpkin pie, just rust, summer sky y green apple. Ahora que mi trozo o panel está completo de soles, también estampé la flor que viene con el kit. Estampé esta flor sobre cada uno de los soles que ya había estampado. Seguí la rueda cromática de colores para cambiar el color. Por ejemplo, si estampé el sol con la tinta butter bar, entonces estampé la flor sobre él con la tinta orange soda o orchid. También, habían soles demasiado oscuros, los estampados con la tinta navy, por ello decidí estampar la flor sobre estos con la tinta de pigmento unicorn. Cuando finalicé la estampación de todas las flores en cada uno de los soles, decidí rellenar los huecos con pequeños corazones.
Later, I used my mini MISTI for stamping the sentiment because I wanted to stamp it several times. I designed the phrase choosing each word from the kit before stamping. When I was satisfied with it, I first stamped them with versafine onyx black ink and then, heat embossed with ultra fine embossing powder.
Más tarde utilicé la herramienta de estampación mini MISTI para estampar la frase porque quise estamparla varias veces. Diseñé la frase que quería estampar eligiendo cada una de las palabras del kit antes de comenzar a estampar. Cuando ya estaba satisfecha, estampé la frase creada con la tinta versafine onyx black y luego, añadí los polvos de embossing ultra fine que sequé con la pistola de calor o embossing.
Next, I trimmed the sides of the panel just a half inch and glued over a 5,5 by 4,25-inch black cardstock that I attached the whole piece to an A2 white notecard.
Siguiente, recorté los laterales del panel solo mitad de pulgada y lo pegué sobre un trozo de cartulina negra de 5,5 por 4,25 pulgadas que adherí a una base de tarjeta del mismo tamaño, 5,5 por 4,25 pulgadas.
For some details, I gave some shine to the flowers with a shimmer pen. I also added some dimensional dots on the center of each flower with the lacquer pen.
Para los detalles, le dí brillo a las flores con un rotulador con purpurina. También añadí algunos puntos dimensionales en el centro de cada flor con el lacquer pen (pegamento para dar relieve).
I didn't add anything else due to the shine of the card!
¡No quise añadir más nada por el brillo de la tarjeta!

For Americans, I highly recommend the Wagner heat tool from Hero Arts. I cannot use this tool because I live outside of the States and this tool cannot be used internationally due to the electrician requirements that are not the same for all the continents. No possible for use with outlet adapters.

I use Artemio heat tool (available in Europe only).
Para los americanos, recomiendo la pistola de embossing de Hero Arts - Wagner. No puedo utilizar esta herramienta porque vivo fuera de los EEUU y es incompatible debido a los requisitos eléctricos que no son iguales para todos los continentes. Tampoco es posible utilizarse con un adaptador.
Utilizo la pistola de calor de Artemio (disponible solo para Europa)
