A Watercolor Galaxy

Hello there! It's me, Cha. This time I'll show you how to create your own cards without any stamps. Just a little of imagination, creativity and some supplies and that's all. Let's start!

I must say that I created this card last week and it's a coincidence that the new My Monthly Hero Kit (August 2017) has to do with spatial and dreamy stamps and stencils. Stay tuned to the future post about this new kit.

Background
For my background, I picked some watercolor paper and grabbed some watercolors that I usually have in my stash. I do not have much but they are incredible! Of course, for creating this backgrounds, you can use Distress Inks or Distress Oxide Inks. Before starting, let me remind you that you can see all the link products below the post.

I started adding the medium tone and then, the clear tone. At this point, I decided to add the dark color and started creating the transitions between the colors. I didn't follow a specific way of coloring, just I added colors and tried that the transitions were as real as possible. I used different tones of blue (Ultramarine Deep and Cerulean Blue), also I used black and white watercolors. When I was happy with the result, I heat it with my heat gun and gave some splashes with white acrylic paint. I heat it again a little bit and left aside.

Image
First, I surfed the net for some galaxy inspiration. Then, I took my pencil and started drawing my rocket and colored it with alcohol markers (mines are ProMarkers by Winsor&Newton). When I finished coloring my rocket, I decided to give it some fine lines using black Sakura Micron pens and colored the border with my black ProMarker to give some contrast between the background and the image. I also give some highlights to the image with my white gel pen.

Sentiment
I created my own sentence to add to my card: 'Follow me to the stars!'. I must say that I'm not very good at lettering but I did my best... Hope you understand this. For writing, I used the embossing pen after using my anti-static tool on a black watercolor paper. I added some white embossing powders and heat it. I gave it some highlights here, again with my white gel pen.

Card Mounting
For mounting my card, I first glued a piece of black watercolor paper onto my white card base, then I attached on it, a black foam piece. Finally, I adhered the watercolor panel using double-sided tape. I used some different tapes because I run out of one of them.
Secondly, I glued my sentiment at the top of my card and added my rocket on the left, next to the sentiment. I added some dimension to my rocket image using foam mounting squares.

Embellishments
For final touches, I added some clear Wink of Stella on my sentiment and on my rocket. Apart from using my white gel pen, I added some Stickles dots to my background. Also, I added more dots to the card using Glossy Accents and covered the window of the rocket.
